What’s in Grand National 2010

The Grand National is the most valuable sporting event of England, widely popular among jockeys and horse-racing devotees. It is considered as the toughest race for horses as well as for jockeys with over a distance of four miles to be covered during which 30 fences have to be jumped. It is held at Aintree in England every year in April.

Battleship, the American horse whose jockey was Bruce Hobbs, was the first one to win both the Grand National and The American Grand. Apparently, Bruce Hobbs, at the age of 17, was and is still, the youngest ever jockey to win Grand National. But the most successful horse till date has been Red Rum having won thrice and came second twice.

In 2009, Mon Mome bagged the first prize with Comply and My-Will following behind. For the 2010 event, the Grand National Hunt horse race has received 112 entries and is scheduled to take place on 10th April, Saturday. Speculating on the potential 2010 Grand National Winner is difficult right now as the weights are not out yet.
